Eligibility and Application
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
All full-time University of California, Berkeley undergraduate students - with the exception of seniors graduating this academic year - can apply to the SAGE Scholars Program if they:
-
qualify for need-based financial aid,
-
must be Pell Grant Recipient,
-
maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA,
-
have leadership potential.
After submission of the application, candidates may be invited for an interview by the Director of the SAGE Scholars Program.
After acceptance, SAGE endeavors to match internship opportunities to the student's career focus. Although we cannot guarantee that we will be able to make a match, we do make every effort to introduce students to companies and organizations related to their interests and to get them an
interview. Depending on financial aid status, students who qualify will receive tuition awards in addition to competitive internship wages. The hiring company will ultimately make the final decision of the internship placement through their interview process. In addition to internships, all SAGE Scholars attend a 2-unit Haas School of Business sponsored professional development course, taught by business professionals and campus faculty, that covers topics such as business ethics, workforce diversity, business writing, presentation and leadership skills. SAGE Scholars also work with professional coaches to learn strategies for staying focused on goals, managing time, and recognizing their strengths.
