Internship Description

Companies and organizations partner with UC Berkeley's SAGE Scholars Program by offering paid internships to the SAGE Scholars in their field of study in addition to making an annual contribution to the SAGE Scholar's Fund at UC Berkeley. The SAGE Scholars Fund will support financial awards and career development. Through these partnerships business sponsors will provide invaluable business experience and training, as well as strong mentoring.

SAGE Scholars will also participate in career workshops at UC Berkeley, specially designed to enhance their business and leadership skills.

In return for their investments in the SAGE Scholars Program, business sponsors will:

• Develop a diverse workforce of highly skilled, committed and motivated future employees
• Save on recruitment training and turnover costs
• Increase employee leadership and coaching skills through mentoring
• Benefit from positive exposure in the community

All SAGE Scholars are on need based financial aid and have a minimum 3.0 GPA at UC Berkeley. SAGE Scholars attend career and professional development training workshops taught by experts in their field of expertise before their internship begins. Students, supervisor and SAGE staff agree on goals and objectives of the internship, and students are evaluated on these objectives by their supervisors.

• 12 Month Agreement - Students work full time in the summer and part time during the academic year. $7,000 sponsorship for one SAGE Scholar; $6,500 for multiple SAGE Scholars.
  
• Summer Only Agreement - Students work full time all summer. $3,800 sponsorship for one SAGE scholar; $3,500 for multiple SAGE scholars.
• Academic Year Agreement - Students work part time during the academic year and may be available for full time work during holidays. $3,250 sponsorship for one SAGE Scholar; $3,000 for multiple SAGE Scholars.
