Eligibility and Application

2012-2013 academic year applications are due on May 1st, 2012.

All full-time University of California, Berkeley undergraduate students—with the exception of seniors graduating this academic year—can apply to the SAGE Scholars Program if they:

  • qualify for need-based financial aid
  • are a Pell Grant Recipient
  • maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • have leadership potential

After submission of the application, candidates may be invited for an interview.

As part of the program, we introduce students to companies and organization representatives. The hiring organization will ultimately make the final decision of internship placements through their interview process.

All SAGE Scholars attend a Fall-semester Haas School of Business-sponsored professional development course, taught by business professionals and campus faculty, that covers topics such as business ethics, workforce diversity, business writing, presentation and leadership skills. SAGE Scholars may be required to take another Spring-semester course on another topic.

SAGE Scholars also work with professional coaches to learn strategies for staying focused on goals, managing time, and recognizing their strengths.
