Why should you support our efforts?

SAGE is a unique program at UC Berkeley. We provide professional and leadership training to low-income, high-potential students. SAGE connects real-world professional experience with academics so that students not only graduate, but become productive leaders in society.  The SAGE Scholars Program is fully self-funded, and 100% of the Scholars have graduated and gone on to graduate school or accepted career positions.

There are several ways you can contribute. If you’d like more information on how you can help the SAGE Scholars, please contact us.

An Overview of How You Can Help

Monetary Donation

The SAGE Scholars Program is a self-funded Program the University of California, Berkeley and completely relies on corporate foundation and individual donations. Every effort is made to maximize the potential impact every dollar has on the SAGE Scholars through skill-building workshops, events, seminars, and other experiential opportunities.

Sponsor the Program

The SAGE Scholars Program is a sound investment for your organization. All SAGE Scholars have professional development training in addition to achieving a high academic status at UC Berkeley. SAGE assists up-and-coming and highly motivated Cal students who are on their way to becoming the leaders of tomorrow. They have overcome uncommonly difficult challenges to gain entry into Berkeley and the SAGE program, and they continue to achieve. They need your help. SAGE works with businesses to increase their diversity with highly motivated employees with a strong work ethic. Please consider making your tax-deductible sponsorship today.

Sponsor a Scholar

In addition to the personal and professional development resources SAGE offers, the Scholars also benefit from paid internships that provide both financial support and valuable work experience. Without financial help, there are SAGE Scholars who miss out on this important experience because they cannot afford to work without pay. Your support through the SAGE Sponsor-a-Scholar Program ensures that a SAGE Scholar receives a meaningful internship work experience, which enhances their contributions to their communities and the fields they enter into after graduation.

Volunteer

The SAGE Scholars Program is made possible by great volunteers who provide everything from event space to inspiring talks on such topics as personal finance management & presentation skills. If you’re interested in teaming up with SAGE to enable low-income, high-achieving Cal undergraduates to pursue their dreams and serve their communities, please contact Marjorie at weingrow@berkeley.edu.
